The recent mass layoffs at FedEx were discussed in depth and did not paint too favorable a picture of my former employer. But be sure to read the last few paragraphs. As an HR pro, you'll need to know enough about the social networking sites to monitor their usage. Also, someone at your company needs to take steps to register any brand names, etc. -- before others do it for you and without your knowledge.

Yes, Twitter can be slow . . . apparently one of the consequences of not having a revenue model and an infrastructure that can keep up with the huge influx of users. John Phillips will be pleased if you add him to your list. tk
