Flaming Topic

What causes the little pencil/notepad to the left of the topic to burst info flames? Number of reads? Number of responses? Just curious.

If the total number of replies to a topic equals eight or more, then it's considered a "hot topic." To signify that, the topic displays a flame. For more helpful guidance about this discussion board, you may want to check out the FAQ section. You can find the FAQ icon on the front page of each "conference." tk

Ok, is it just me or do others become (slightly) annoyed at seeing the flaming topic notification when you look at the list of topics? Perhaps it could be increased to something like 20 posts makes it a "hot" topic. After all, viewers can easily see the number of replies on your nice-to-use summary of topics page. Just my $.03

Good idea. I changed it to 15. That should take away a lot of flames.
