OK, this post is part humor, part safety reminder, part "gee-whiz" knowledge:
For lunch yesterday (Memorial Day) I grilled some brats. They came off the grill around 1:00. After naps, and other assorted activities, I went back to preheat my grill in order to cook dinner (delmonico steaks). To my dismay, the grill was already hot! And it had been for the last six hours as I never turned it off after grilling the brats! So, the take-away moral of my story is:
1-Never leave your grill on unattended.
2-Weber Silver 36,000 BTU grill will run full blast for at least six hours with enough propane left to cook four delmonico's to medium rare finish. x:-8
Thank goodness that neither children nor pets (or nosey neighbors) came within striking distance of my very own backyard WMD!

Moral one: never stare at a warm, fat brat so long that it gives you ideas. Moral two: Always have a spare, full propane bottle on hand.
