My sister discovered this one:
Take a couple of handfulls of sliced almonds, throw them in a frying pan on medium heat (no oil or butter) and start toasting. After about three or so minutes or when they start to brown, splash some soy sauce in. I can't say how much, I guess it depends on how salty you like things, but I just tend to hit each area of the pan with a drizzle. Start tossing the almonds around with a spatula for about twenty seconds and then remove from heat. Your pan is going to look a mess but don't worry it washes off with no after affects.
You can do this with any kind of nut and for a sweet/sour nut use balsamic vinegar instead of soy sauce.

Got to have something to eat on the plane you know. A 4-oz bag of peanuts and 1/2 can of soda just doesn't do it for me.
