There already has been much speculation that 2008 may go down in history as the greatest year for sports ever. At least in the sense that the stories were so compelling. And its still just July with the Olympics ahead.
To add to the compelling stories, you have 53 year old Greg Norman leading the British Open. He'll start the final round with a two shot lead. It will be an opportunity for him to redeem himself and his legacy forever or confirm his reputation as a choke artist.
Either way, you couldn't write this story line. Nobody would believe it.
