I was reading a payroll publication that had a blurb in it about a lawsuit between state of Illinois and the Department of Homeland Security. The state of Illinois has banned employers from participating in any federal employment eligibility verification program, including E-Verify.
Just curious - does anyone know what the rationale was behind this? Perhaps some of our IL brethren have some insight on this issue.
