While I was gone at lunch today a lady dropped off a resume. She spoke to the supervisor of the appropriate department before leaving. It is neatly typed with lots of white areas, good solid information about her background, and comes to about 2-1/2 pages. It has a serious problem though. It has no contact information. No address, no phone number, no email address. It does have her name, but it is a fairly common one. I wonder if she is getting many call backs?

I've had people email me their resumes with no contact info. Of course, I can hit the reply button if I'm interested.

I have a special file for those type of unsolicited resumes. It is the round file under my desk.

I love those applicants who e-mail you their resume, and their e-mail address is something soooo inappropriate!

I agree, Frank....I find it hard to take an applicant seriously when their e-mail address is either really inappropriate or really cutesy.

When personalized license plates first became the rage, I learned I was very good at figuring out what they said. Now, I've turned those observations to e-mail addresses. It's amazing how many applicants think they are so clever that no one else will catch on.
