Many of you may recognize hairstcuts or clothing styles from these photos. Others of you may simply relate to the blank empty stares.

Yep, I can relate to a few of those. My leisure suit was lime green. And I wore a floral shirt with it. And platform shoes. I've pictures at home.

No 'fro, but my hair was half way over my ears, flipped in back and I had lamb chop sideburns.

That is priceless. Unfortunately, I have pictures of myself with outfits (and hair) that closely resemble some of those. None with the cheesy backdrops, though....all the photographers that I went to back then used very plain ones. I have one photo circa about 1978 where I wore a brown dress and dressed my little sons in brown slacks and brown-striped sweaters, and guess what color the only backdrop that photographer had was? Brown! We all pretty much look like disembodied heads in that shot.

oh my gosh, I laughed so hard I cried! I have one of those with the profile shot in the corner (looking so serious) and then the smiling one up front! I think I was in 8th grade and I had so much blush on, I looked like I should be in the circus. I can't believe my mom let me go to school like that.

I think my favorite was "Serious Lance, Mirthful Lance." Mirthful Lance is currently living in a padded room, his wardrobe consists only of hospital pants and straight jackets.

I was a kid in the 70s and so I can't be blamed for my fashion choices (courderoy shorts and slip ons). But you older posters have some 'splainin to do.

Worse still, some of the styles are coming back. I always smile when I see some Paris Hilton wannabe with GINOURMOUS sunglasses that look like something Jackie Kennedy might have worn.

I could never bring myself to wear the leisure suit jacket, but hey, the shirts and slacks were cool! Hot pink shirt with plaid pants and white shoes. We were cool!

My husband wore a "Magnum PI" mustache (we would never have associated it with Tony Orlando) and pretty much still does. He also wore Angel Flight pants. Anyone else remember those? I loved the way his butt looked in them. Of course, that was mid to late 70's, not 73.

Ahh..bell bottom jeans, clogs, leather pony tail holders and fancy combs to keep my hair out of my face. Let's not forget those short shorts, especially the ones the men wore with tank tops when they jogged. Yep. Those were the days.

I've had a moustache for over 35 years; my wife and kids have never seen me without one. But now that you call it a Tony Orlando, I may shave it off; but no wait, it's a Tom Selleck stache!! That works!
I wore tank tops but not the short shorts; too self conscious I guess. Obviously they look much better on the other gender.

Angel Flight pants! I haven't thought about those in a long time!

Oh, wait a minute... I haven't thought about ANY pants in a long time.

My Angel Flights were replaced by M.A.L.E., and those were replaced by Brittania. I wore English Leather after I outgrew Old Spice. My leisure suit was powder blue with dark blue stitching.

But I didn't get my 'fro until my freshman year in college... '80.

BTW... A word about Hai Karate... Check out the prices on unopened bottles of Hai Karate via eBay. I tried to find a bottle as a gag gift for my father-in-law, and I was stunned by what I would have had to pay.

NaeNae, did you ever cause me to have flashbacks. I worked retail in 1977 and sold Angel Flights. We had racks of them. They were the best. That was at the same time as we were selling 'fashion' overalls and lots of shiny polyester shirts.

Remember Bare Traps and Roots shoes? Weren't the mens short shorts called stubbies?

Last year, my family had its first family portrait taken since my kids were small. Now the studio is using one of the shots for their ads. You'd think I would have gotten a free 16x20 out of it!

One of my ex-boyfriends did that, and his senior picture was taken in 1995. He had a couple different prop-shots. One with a saxophone, and one with a gun (rifle). I had a good laugh when I saw those.
