Well OK, technically she was from the mideast and now calls NY home. But, is she dead? Obama is clearly in the lead and surprisingly, Edwards is in second place in the Iowa caucus. Worse yet, very few have chosen Hillary as their secondary choice if they are forced to change allegiance due to the caucus rules. Not often Iowa gets it wrong.

She must be on hiatus, although she may be in Iowa working on the Guiliani campaign. The polls are showing what the rest of the country already knows. You either love or hate Hillary (although I think Bill has managed to do both), and she is very divisive (and not very decisive I might add). Let's hope she gets the nomination!! Oh geez, did I say that out loud?

As an Iowa native, I can caution you about one thing... While Iowa generally gets it right, the pollsters do not. History is full of Iowa caucuses where the favorite-de-jour limped off to New Hampshire with a bloodied nose and a drained media budget.

I would guess most Iowans are just glad this whole deal is finally over today. All the media coverage, commercials, phone calls, home visits. They're probably saying good riddance!!

Frank, if Hillary were coming in a close second to Obama, then I'd say she is still in the running. But, since she is clearly in third place now, that doesn't bode well for her. So if the pollsters got it wrong, she comes in second place? Still not first place. A few short weeks ago she was clearly in the lead, but momentum has changed.

But, I'm with Steaks, I think the dems should nominate her. *evil grin*

Well I have lived through Bill & Hillary, but I'm curious what name you have dubbed on Huckabee........I have lived through him as well and if the kind folks in Iowa have it right for the Republicans.....Isn't he clearly the winner. Well I don't want to do that again, so I hope anyone but him is crowned the prez....

Ok, this is going to sound offensive but isnt Arkansas ranked near the bottom in live-abilitiy, education, etc... and why do we keep electing Governers from there for President?

You dont promote supervisors of poorly run departments to management, do you? Well maybe in the government you do...

As a former resident of the great state of Arkansas, we use to brag that we were ahead of Alabama and Mississippi and then I believe one them moved up to #48.

I also seem to recall that when Clinton was elected President the battle cry was .... at least it got him out of Arkansas.

I don't know much about Huck, other than what we all read or see at the national level. Both of my boys seem to like him.

I am REALLY suprised he won Iowa. I wasn't expecting that. I had predicted Obama would win but I was still kind of suprised that he pulled it off.

Well I guess I need to move to another state so I can raise myself from the bottom, do you have any suggestions for me as to a good place to live?

Or, I could run and get elected as governor and then run for prez....maybe I'd get free moving expenses like Bill and maybe ole' HUCK is trying to do.

No I was looking for the clout of Prez my friend....after all I'm a Survivor Fan so I might make a good decision or two. I don't think I could hurt anything if Huck is who we will be stuck with.

Besides if I stay here then I will still have the trailer on stilts to remind me of Bill......That's what we call the Clinton Library for those of you who haven't seen it.

hrdilemma: I assume the "trailer on stilts" is located on prime real estate downtown on or near the river and close to where the Excelsior hotel is or was.... been a long time since I was in Little Rock. I spent most of my years in the northeast and northwest corners of the state.

Yes it is seen on the east side of Interstate 30 . Built close to the river bank and on the other side of the interstate is our beautiful river market area, High Rise apartments & condos with a selling price some over $1million, the Excelsior, LR Convention center etc.

You know my little town pretty well Dutch! The country is beautiful here, mountains, caverns, lakes, white water for canoe trips, Hot Springs for baths, Diamond fields, some big city life, some country life. Till you live here you really don't know what Arkansas is all about.

The only stories you here are the Bill, Hillary, Huckabee, and where we are on the list......But we do have some pretty wealthy people in our back yards. The Waltons - WalMart, The Rockerfellows, The Osbornes, and my boss .

I wouldn't worry too much about Huck. Iowa has been a much better predictor on the Dem side... for the GOP, I think New Hampshire is king.

Can't forget about the Stephens. A buddy of mine built his private golf course there in Little Rock. Quite a place from what I hear.

This is true, the Stephens were major players in the stock market industry their company was Stephen, Inc. They have an entire building that Jack Stephens donated to the University of Arkansas Medical Services for work on eyes. Our Medical Center is one of the best in research. Actually my brother who is an RN was Jack Stephens personal Nurse. He hired him from the clinic where he was working.

The golf course is nice as is anything the Stephens do. Maryanne Stephens married Dick Schula (sp) who coached the Miami Dolphins.

I was just back in Little Rock to visit my folks over the holidays - I feel that their sentiments about Arkansas politicians are pretty representative of the state. As Republicans, they hated it when the Trailer on Stilts man was in office, they were happy to get him out of Arkansas. They didn't really have an opinion on Huckabee while in office because he was a pretty benign politician. However, now that he's entered the presidential race, they are taking a closer look at his politics. I seem to gather that he's become much more vocal about polarizing issues since running for prez.

Of the Republican candidates, I personally am not a Huck fan, but I'm interested to see what he does with his candidacy.

My mother-in-law still resides in Crawford County. We were in the state last Summer visiting her and taking the boys to see Mt. Nebo and Petti Jean. My wife received her Bachlor's degree from Arkansas Tech in Russellville. We also had to take the boys for a Watta-burger and large fries in Russellville. We did'nt make it to Little Rock but got close - Conway. On our return trip, we drove from Conway north to Branson. We were really surprised to see all the work the state is doing to complete a four lane from I-40 to Branson. I am sure it will greatly reduce the travel time, 'bout the same as when 71 north from I-40 to I-44 was completed as four lane.
