In support of Paul's 24 hours of gleeful positiveness:

A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year.
Another study found that Americans drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a year.

That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles per gallon.

Not Bad.

But yes, I do use ethanol 10% blend - if it's the cheapest.....

'Nother question for ya. I drink less than a six pack of beer per year. I suppose that makes me the Hybrid model with @ 80 mpg. But what I really want to know, is who is the gas guzzler drinking the rest of my beer?

Joannie, I'm doing my best to keep the average up but I'm getting kinda old; maybe rita is helping!
And Nae, stats about water or sodas would just dilute (Freudian) the equation.
