World Series

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 10-25-06 AT 01:01PM (CST)[/font][br][br]Anybody out there following the World Series? Since the Yankees lost then the Mets lost, I'm rooting for the underdog, the Cards. It may go 7 games, but I'm hoping they take it.

I must admit that I am a bit tired of hearing about the pinetar on Roger's hand. This topic should be a candidate for the "Just Shut-Up About It" award on the Mike and Mike ESPN2 tv program.
Have my fingers crossed the game will be played tonight, it has been raining here off an on all day.

Don't forget, Dutch, in 1968 Cards were ahead of the Tigers 3 to 1 and the Tigers came back to win it. Don't celebrate yet.

Don't worry... my household is not celebrating just yet. The Cards are almost as bad as the Cubbies when it comes to being ahead but coming up short when it counts.
There was a comment made during the game last night that the previous two times they have played each other in the WS they went the full seven games both times and the team that won the fourth game lost the series both times. So...Card fans are saying that last night was really the fifth game, they have to make up the fourth game tonight, if the rain will go away and come back another day.

Dutch, I like that 4th game rationalization. Which only goes to show that baseball fans, like baseball players are a very superstitious lot.

Yea...I got a kick out of watching some of the pitchers and managers actually jumping over the lines going from home plate to first base and third base rather than take the chance of stepping on the line. One announcer commented that Sparkie Anderson hasn't stepped on a line in over 40 years. If Mother Nature will cooporate, maybe they will get in the game tonight. It sure will be nice to watch all the game and not have to get up early the next morning to go to work.
