I grew up with two big brothers, and I constantly played them against each other when I was little. I play Ray and Paul the same way. They don't know it, though. Shhhhhhhh......
If you REALLY wanted to please Paul you would join the "other" board just to post frequent compliments. Something over-the-top and sycophantic, like "Wow, Paul, I didn't know FMLA was an actual law! You must be very good at your job!"
Can we please ask everyone to raise only their hands and not their arms? It's getting kind of "rank" in here; happens when their is such a high volume voter turnout!!!
Oooooh - Ray, can you modify those to handle employee satisfaction surveys too? We still do ours on paper via the mail, and I have someone in the office type up the results. We can make the outcome whatever we want, but voting machines would save someone from doing all that typing.
We could program automatic responses to some questions, such as: "(Company name's) benefits program, which includes health, dental and disability insurance, vacation pay, childcare discount (blah blah blah) meets my needs."
When they click on anything lower than "agree" the machine would say "look, dude, this is the best you are going to get from anyone in our industry, and believe me, we've checked. Cheap health insurance is never coming back, and we offer more generous vacation pay than anyone else out there. Be happy for what you have. I've taken the liberty of changing your answer to "strongly agree" for you. Maybe put a bit more thought into your future responses... We are watching."
Can I put my hands down yet? My arms are getting tired of suppporting my raised hands. Is anybody counting? Not that I'm voting for or against you Paul but it's that group think thing.
I'm raising my hand. Paul being a trouble-maker is what makes this site worth visiting on a daily basis. I can't wait to see what he will say next...probably something about the WWF or UF if he can work it in.
I am just picturing you guys literally raising your hands in your office and your co-workers walking by snickering.
Well I love you guys too and despite my recent foray "over there" I am about to be voted off that site which means I will have more time for the serious work we do here.
Speaking of hand raising... How many of you have actually raised your right hand when the judge recites the oath during telephonic unemployment appeal hearings?
Just wondering. I did the first time because I'm a horrible liar and felt like was cheating if I didn't raise my hand. Someone walking by thought I was waving to them.
I am kind of like you, Q. The way I figure, if I start lying during a unemployment hearing, then the whole society goes to pieces. Its a very slippery slope.
Maybe they thought you had suddenly become Pentecostal.
It was always good to have a trainee in the hearings, so we could both raise our hands. Then when they started doing them alone I could walk by and laugh at them raising their hand. Ah the good old days...
I want to be honest and respectful. So I raise my hand and wiggle my fingers. Sometimes one stands out more than the rest, but hey, things like that happen.
She didn't specifically say she does it at the hearings. I think she just does it randomly throughout the day. Makes people hesitate before bugging her with questions, so she can spend more time on the Forum.
Q has it right. I also find the need to clean out the corner of my eye frequently. I always use my middle finger as it works best.
You are right though. We have very little turnover. My last unemployment hearing was in 2003.
In 2006 we actually had to hire 3 people! One was to replace an employee who left on maternity leave and didn't return, one to replace a retiring employee, and one to replace an employee when her husband was transferred. We hired her in 2005 to replace a retiring employee.
In case you didn't notice, we are almost all old around here. 14 employees and only 1 under 40.
TWO...(Rita, I'm trying, but I don't think I'm gonna make 10 a day.)

Anyone else you want me to poke?
you are protecting Ray and Paul from is themselves! GO SPURS!!
If it can't be the Suns, then yes, GO SPURS!

Yes, Paul is a trouble maker on this site. That's not necessarily a bad thing.
I am not raising my hand, however, I have work to do.
ugh

hand that I want to raise but rather
the middle digit of my right hand. My
way of getting justice right up front!
