"Haynesworth Gets Five-Game Suspension" for kicking off the helmet of an opposing player and stomping on his head resulting in 30 stitches.
Big deal. If my math is correct he's making around $600k per year and he will lose nearly $200k with this suspension. He still will earn $400k this year, enough to buy sufficient groceries to feed his 300lb body.
According to the AP Sports article, he has a history of violence against not only opposing players but also his own teammates. If he were working in any typical company he would have been fired immediately. Yet, because he is in the entertainment business and capable of making millions of $'s for his "management", he gets a mere slap on the wrist.
I'm a big sports fan and love football. But, I don't care if this is the longest suspension in the history of the NFL, it's not enough. Doesn't matter it was a mere Dallas Cowgirls lineman, it's the principle.

I understand that a certain level of roughness goes with football but intentionally stomping on someones head isn't part of the game.
Now, golf is a civilized sport. Its also one of the few sports that the atheletes actually have to PLAY WELL in order to get a paycheck.
At least golf, unlike baseball and football, isnt fixed.
And isn't it perverse that the NFL's punishment for stomping on someone's face is less than the punishment for smoking pot?

I was going to make a smug comment about the Cowboys hiring T.O. except I just added him to my fantasy football team. x:-8
