Women's Pay

A recent article on MSN suggests it's women's fault that they earn less than men. As one example from the article indicates, "Separate research in 2003 found female mortgage lenders made $575 less per loan than their male counterparts. That study suggested women brokers were more concerned about establishing good relationships and being nice than men."
So, women earn less because they are nicer.

Dare I say it, okay I will. Maybe the women just weren't as good as the men? Did the study ensure that all participants had the same amount of tenure on the job & experience? OR, maybe, the study was too narrow by only focussing on one year. Many, many, many moons ago, I was in furniture sales. Consistently, I was the number 2 sales person behind our number 1 person - a guy. Our GM at the time reviewed the total number of sales over the course of two years & then looked at the total number of returns & complaints, and I came out on top - by a bunch! Not because I was "more concerned about establishing good relationships and being nice...", but because I didn't bs the customers the way the guy did. Maybe I'm on to something, instead of women being nicer, we instead just don't bs as much as the men? x:D
ps I can't believe that .28 less than a man warrants a study, let alone a conclusion that we are nicer...8-}
