The Vonage Song

OK, Forumites, I need your help. The commercial for Vonage phone network has a jingle that is best described as follows:

In a background of a kinda honky-tonkish guitar lick some one is singing like an owl going, "Who who, who-who-whoooo." And so forth.

The other day I heard the original on an oldies radio station. I would guess it was from the fifties or early sixties. Does anybody know who did this originally and what the title of the song is?

Thanks. My dog loves this commercial and perks up when the "who-whoing" starts.

I did a web search and found that "the original “woo-hoo” music, which wound up playing on concurrent ads for both the phone service and the car company, is “Woo Hoo", by The 5.6.7.8’s. The song is also on the soundtrack for Kill Bill: Vol. 1."

Nicely done, Cheryl. Whats interesting is that Larry is just about to have surgery yet he is worrying about a commercial jingle he heard on tv.

Thanks, Cheryl. I guess the pain meds are getting to me. I've been totally stoned for about two weeks now. After Friday, God willing the surgery goes well, I'll be off them damn things.

I hope you recover quickly from your surgery. I had minor surgery last month and was amazed at how annoyingly difficult it became to do minor things. I wish you a smooth operation, a quick recovery, and a LOT of patience to deal with the in-between time.

Thanks, Nae. I would say that minor surgery is when someone else goes in for surgery. It's never minor when you are involved.

I'm having a bone spur removed at C-4 that is pushing into the spinal cord. The neurosurgeon said I would feel instant relief. I can't wait. I had to quit my pain pills last night.
