What Was She Thinking

Interviewed a woman today. Didn't want to fill in gaps in her employment record. Initially told me she was laid off permanently from her last job, but wasn't sure what that meant. Showed her a hand dexterity test she had to take and her eyes got big and told me she was on full disability for carpal tunnel but was bored sitting around collecting WC checks and wanted to go back to work. She decided to take the test anyway. BTW, she was told during the initial call this was a mechanical assy job. She actually did quite well on the test. But, then she proceeded to tell me about her seizures. When asked if she could lift up to 30 lbs, she didn't think so... well, she hasn't tried it in a long time and wasn't sure. Maybe, maybe not. But, she wants to work. She kept saying how she wanted to be honest with me even though others, including one her doctors and Job Service advised her to lie. The other doctor advised her to tell the truth. Phew!!!!

Fast forward to last week, a new employee worked two days and quit. When asked why, his reply was, "I really am not comfortable being supervised by a black person."/:)
If this is going to turn into a "My ee is crazier than your ee" thread it could get interesting.
