Its a sad story actually. The video Smace had linked to was the story of an autistic high school basketball player who went on an incredible scoring streak much to the delight of his classmates, family, and friends.
It was a touching story that tugged at your heart strings. Unfortunately, after all the publicity the young man, we'll call him Kenny, had to hire an agent to represent him.
Soon Kenny was appearing on the Late Show with Jay Leno, Oprah, and even The O'Reilly Factor. He had achieved a kind of "Napoleon Dynamite" type of stardom and Hollywood was talking movie and book deals.
Then there came the string of starlets, each one prettier than the next. Soon Kenny was hanging out with the wrong crowd, shooting baskets with Leonardo DiCaprio until the early morning hours.
Next were the allegations that Kenny had used performance enhancing drugs. An ugly break up with Penelope Cruz only alienated Kenny from his fans even further. Everything culminated on a cold Saturday morning when Kenny was found wandering the streets of Burbank wearing his high school gym shorts and muttering "Where did everybody go? What.. happened?"
Kenny's popularity experienced a brief surge when his basketball video was re-mixed to an Ethel Merman song by Kanye West and was a top ten single in Japan for three weeks. Despite an offer to appear on a New Zealand reality show, Kenny realized it was time to go home.
Fortunately, Kenny's humble, Midwest family was waiting for him with open arms. The prodigal son returned to his own room, just as he left it. Kenny's only request was that no one in the family ever mention "basketball" again.
I think that's why the link was deleted. Just too painful...
Ladies and gentleman, please don't make any sudden moves. We have a rare "James" sighting. He is rather skittish and may dissappear if we startle him.
Native to North America, the "James" was thought to be nearing extinction but as you can see, one has been kept alive in a sheltered, captive environment.
