Cheney's Got a Gun

Here in the Land of 10,000 Hunting Accidents, it amazes me how the news media can keep a news(?) story propped up through their own perpetuosity(God, I hope that's not a word!).
Last Saturday will be known as the day that Cheney shot somebody. Here in Land of 10,000 Ways To Build a Tree Blind, it'll be known as Saturday.
I think the real reason the news media keeps on this is that they're all p*ssed off because they weren't immediately notified. I guess in the future we should 1. Call the New York Times 2. Call 911.
OK I'm done; back to loading shells.

Me:
So, if I understand you correctly, you are saying this hunting accident is a metaphor.
Him:
My English professor father would likely say the answer is "yes," but I feel like this goes beyond metaphor to being a concrete example of a pattern.
The pattern he sees is one of poor judgment going back to the decision to invade Iraq. Seems as though the big beef is that there was not an immediate press release within seconds after the accident.
But I'm happy to know there's another liberal in Texas! Perhaps you should send me his name so I can nominate him for the endangered species list. x:-)
For example: "Dude, you bug me! Why don't you go hunting with Cheney and leave me alone!"
or
"Ward, I am worried about the Beaver. He's been talking about going hunting with Cheney again."
Re: the title of your post -- got it, loved it. The problem is that I've got that song stuck in my head now. Oh well, I guess there are worse things to have stuck in my head. Up there in the Land of 10,000 Gun-n-Ammo References, y'all must really like that Aerosmith tune, right?
Whirlwind, if there is another liberal in TX then they should run for the Austin city council. It's been a while...long live Max!!!
Actually, when I said something earlier about liberals in Texas being an endangered species I should have qualified that as "outside of Austin." I'm in a very blue county in the middle of a very big red state. As such, I enjoy the distinction of being a veritable centrist by comparison. Imagine that!
