Funny Yet Ironic

Our plant manager relayed a conversation he overheard the other morning in the parking lot. One of our recent new hires, a young marketing guy right out of college. All-American linebacker out of Stanford gets out of his brand-new Corvette. Next to him parked the owner of our 3rd party logistics services provider. The older gentleman admires the car, makes a comment on the hefty sticker price. The young man said it was a graduation gift from his parents. To which the older logistics guy says must be nice. The kid didn't think twice before saying something to the effect of yep, oil business has been good down in Odessa (family is from Midland/Odessa area, big hats, lots of cattle (and oil and mineral rights too)).

I think the older gentleman would've rather heard about his daughter having liked the action in the backseat of the car instead. It suddenly dawned on him one of the many things that $3.25 diesel helped pay for.
