Discussion...Arguments...Response

All these arguments regarding the Katrina response... Last night, my SO, me (or is it I) and some friends were having this same "discussion." When we got home, I looked at the entry on my "Sh*t Happens Calendar" (seriously, that's what it's called and how it's spelled). The quote was "The Experts Speak," and it said:

On the outskirts of every agony sits some observant fellow who points. - Virginia Woolf

How appropriate.

Whatever

And isn't great to live where you are able to have all these arguments.

I think you have confused 'arguments' with open discussions. You live in a land where people can freely hold and express opinions. Virginia Woolf was a figment of someone's imagination. Be glad you and your friends can sit and have those conversations, even with the door open where others can hear you, without fear of being hauled off to the lockup. And, it's "My SO, some friends and I."

I hope you had a good, spirited discussion. If every car on the track had the same number on the hood, it would be a pretty boring contest.
