Friday evening my wife and I saw George Thorogood in concert at the Dodge County Fair. What a concert!!! The first three songs lasted a half hour and George was on stage during the whole concert. As my son said, "He's not one of those guys who's just 'mailing it in'". Great concert, and I know most of you younger readers won't identify with his music, but it's some of the best. BEST PART: $9.00 got you into the fair. The concert was FREE!!! "I Drink Alone", "You Talk Too Much", "Gear Jammer", "Who Do You Love", etc. Unfortunately, he didn't do "Memphis". He has the best rendition of the song ever recorded. IMHO

I used to "stop" by a little tavern right on the Susquehanna River in a place called Marietta, PA. There was an old derelict (and as you will soon find out why probably made me a degenerate) in there and when he would see me he would play that song on the jukebox knowing fully well I was the only idiot in there besdies him that would buy him and I a round of bourbon, scoth and beer.
Eeeee Haaaaw is right. Damn near blew my ears out. We were about 25 yards from the speakers and I thought the chest compressions alone were going to be enough to give me the Big One. x:-)
