I saw in the paper the other day that the terrorist alert level was raised to high that day. I realized that I never really pay attention to these advisories, and wonder if anyone else does. Does it affect your way of life if the level is high?

Living in a city where the alert level hasn't changed since 9/11, I never pay attention to the advisories. Matter of fact, life goes on as normal until a day like today when two grenades went off by the British consulate. Then, for awhile, I pay a lot of attention to my surroundings. And, I believe I'm very typical of most New Yorkers (or if you are from here, New Yawkers).

I don't pay attention to them, unless they are raised in areas where I have family and/or friends. By the time I find out about any change, it is usually changed back.

Reno has not been the target that Las Vegas has been - so it does not seem to directly affect us.

To me, they're like a tornado watch in Texas in the springtime. What the hell can you do but get on with your life and occasionally scan the skies?

To me it reminds me of when I was in grade school and we would have nuclear bomb drills and croutch underneath our desks.

I pay attention to them for a moment but do not crouch under my desk. It's too hard to get back up.

We rarely get danger alerts of any kind except the occasional 'winter storm warnings' but even those don't bring the excitement they used to when we'd gather around the radio as kids in the morning to see if school was cancelled.
