Continental kits – Tried to make any car look like a Lincoln

Emergency brake – Now it is parking brake

Foot Feed – Now called the accelerator

Store-Bought – Now EVERYTHING is store bought

Coast to Coast – Now it is “World-wide”

In a family way – It’s hard to imagine that “pregnant” was one considered too graphic

Percolator – It was just fun to say - -Thanks Mr. Coffee for taking it away

Lumbago – Did we find a cure or did castor oil cure it?

Rat Fink – What a nasty put-down

Supper – The meal at evening time. Dish dinner and invite someone over for supper and discuss
fender skirts

I have a Hemings Motor News calendar of 1950s cars hanging on the wall in front of my computer. Three of the 12 cars have fender skirts. But todays cars wear bras on the front to protect from stone chips and bugs.

My grandmother told me once that she got a beating by her mother for spooning with her date. Sounds like they simply didn't know their table ettiquette.

Never heard of 'foot feed.' Used 'Rat fink' a lot. Now 'store bought' is second only to ebay.
