In Newark NJ, a man became angry after a letter carrier walked on his lawn while making a delivery. About 30 min later, the man drove off in his car and confronted the letter carrier (about 2 miles away). He punched the mail man twice in the face before leaving the scene, and some nearby residents came to the mail man's help after hearing his cries for help.
The man who attacked the postal worker because he walked on his lawn was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison. He was charged with assaulting a federal employee and pleaded guilty, just days before he was to stand trial.
