Three of these four things really happened just recently. Are you cynical enough to figure out the made-up story?

(a) The New Zealand government issued a 100-page occupational health and safety guide for prostitutes.

(b) An appeals court in Michigan ruled that a man suffering chronic depression can, under the Americans With Disabilities Act, carry a loaded pistol in public because holding it in his hands helps him therapeutically, according to doctors.

(c) Turkmenistan ruled that drivers cannot get licenses unless they pass tests on the moral values described in President Saparmurat Niyazov's writings.

(d) The owner of a gym in downtown Baghdad held a bodybuilding competition on July 30 in honor of the birthday of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Since I live here - I hope it's b as well, however, given the stupid things our ct of appeals has been doing, I'm betting it's not b. Maybe the ct of appeals should outsource its decisions to India just as the state has outsourced its helpline.

I'm with you Shaddow. I live here as well & I know some of the "intellegent" decisions our courts make. I certainly hope "b" is the one not true nut my gut tells me some guy is walking the streets out front here with a loaded gun in his hands right now - I just ducked just in case his bullet was headed for my window - whew, just missed me. My secretary wants to know why I keep ducking. I just told her my anckle itches ... x;-)

When the sniper was in DC, pedestrians were told to cross their arms over their chest and jog in place when waiting to cross the street. Not really funny but funny to imagine.

Hey! In WI, and I'll bet a lot of other states it's legal without a disability to carry a loaded pistol as long as it's carried in open view. There are some exceptions: bars, government buildings, etc. Heck, I generally strap on my six-shooter and tie the holster down to my leg when I'm goin' for a stroll through town. Never know when the bad guys will be ridin' up.
