I'm Baaaack!

Greetings. I got back from the lovely Ft. Drum, NY last week and have finally caught up with enough work to take time to post. I wish I could describe some wonderful patriotic event at Ft. Drum; one that would bring tears to all of your eyes and make you all proud of me! But, alas, it was incredibly boring! Not much to write home about. Besides, there needs to be more levity here. Reading all of the posts (catching up) from the time I was away. Whew, intense conversations going on.

When I have time maybe I can post some pictures. I will say though that this is my first experience with such a large task force. There were about 1300 to 1500 troops out there - all to support 80 Infantrymen! (You're either infantry or your not)

Anyway, glad to be back :DD

I don't know for sure. If the entire time was like my first night, I can understand. There was the biggest thunder and lightening storm I've had the pleasure to sleep under! My sleeping bag (while I was in it) got soaking wet and most of my stuff did too. I gave up trying to sleep and went over to the big R-FAB (that's GP Mediums and GP Large for the older generation) that we worked out of during the day. I figured it would be a little dryer than my tent.

Thankfully the rest of the time there the weather was just right. Not too hot and not too cold. Then it rained again the day we were packing up all the tents to go home!

In the Air Guard if we got uncomfortable we just got out of bed and turned up/down the air conditioner in our hotel rooms.

Welcome back Miz Guard. I'm trying to find that post by smoll, something about, "I can't wait for her to return. I'll teach her to leave again for two weeks. She won't see daylight for at least 6 or 7 days." I'll keep looking for it.
