"United Who's Who Registry"

I am looking for some insight to the "United Who's Who Registry". I received a letter stating that I was selected as a candidate for inclusion in this registry. Does anyone know if this is a good thing or is it useless? Thanks for your help.

I couldn't tell you about that but I remember being asked to enroll in the "Who's Who of American High School Students" many many years ago...sounds like the same thing and all I got was a big book I paid 80 bucks to own and see my name in teeny tiny lettering...

One of our attorneys was just nominated to a similar thing...and it then asked for 5 "nominations" from him.

I think it's a money making scam. You can be listed for free but to have the certificate and the book it's about 250.00.

This book is the same sort of thing as those so called monority organizations who want you to pay $125 to appear in some book somewhere as an employer who observes civil rights laws. Tell them you will be glad to join if they will join the Kentucky Chapter of Jeffrey's Fan Club at the same price, with a check payable to you.

This sounds alot like the Mensa organization where you send them $300 and then they tell you how smart you are. The irony just kills me!

Hey, I received one of those letters years ago and like the other posters said, the letter included a request to send money - lot's of it. And since I'm only a psuedo-intellectual, as another poster so graciously pointed out to me recently, I guess the honor doesn't mean much.

I think you are inaccurately recalling who might have told you that. It must have been a relative. It did not appear in print on the Forum. Maybe one of your private messages that landed you in hot water already once. x:-)

I, too, earlier this year - was selected as a preliminary candidate for Who's Who. Call them and you get a person who will ask you all kinds of questions for 30 minutes, and then tell you that in order to be included in the book you have to fork over $600+ TODAY, NOW, OVER THE PHONE. I said "no" , and the representative argued with me. I hung up. If you don't have that kind of money, don't waste your time.

I am not sure what you are referring to.
Reply 7 and 8 have lost me. Maybe it is just me.
