Iraq was worth it

  • For most of my answer I'll refer you back to post #28.

Genocide is more of an ongoing culture of persecution, murder, and movement of a people than it is an "event". In Saddam's case, it was being directed at Kurds and different factions (political and religious) of Iraqis. So, yes, based on books about the situation, UN reports, and the media, I don't beleieve he was "done" with his genocide. Also, the intent of these deranged dictators is to "complete the cleansing", not just start it and forget about it. The fact that Kurds and enemy factions still existed in Iraq before the war started would indicate that Saddam was not through with his "work". That's my belief, Hatch.

Your statement, "I am not an ally of Saddam" tells me that you took my last paragraph pretty literally. I did that last paragraph with tongue in cheek. Even though our views are different and we both adamently defend them, I still respect you and your views and would never seriously side you up with the likes of Saddam. Therefore, the last sentence of my last paragraph. Didn't you think that was just a little bit funny? It was meant to be.
  • Larry: Hatchetman has been known to laugh two times in the past two years. He posted two comic-relief posts in two years. He has never posted a question, only answers. The only reason he is on the Hr de har section now is because that is where he has landed to launch his political platform. Don't expect him to understand tongue in cheek humor. He bemoans the fact that he is an American and longs for socialism to overtake our country. My offer to buy him a cheap beer still stands, but I will insist on wearing a ball cap, sunglasses and a trench coat so nobody will see me with him. x:D

You don't know me too well -- do you? -- to say that I dont understand tongue-in-cheek humor.

Too bad you don't participate on the SHRM BB.

Larry, given some of the comments that are made on this thread by others, I didn't know how to take your last sentence. So, I assumed it was serious in that since I oppose the war on Iraq, I thought you see me as an apologist for Saddam.
  • Which station carries Limbaugh out there anyway Hatchet?
  • Don and Hatch, let me know when you guys go beer drinking. I'll grab LeslieC, my new-found sister and politicalviewsmate, and we'll join you. Leslie and I'll sit together; Hatch, you can sit to our left; and Don, you can sit to our right. I'll buy the first round and we'll drink a toast to whirled peas.
  • Been busy and just getting around to reading this. Rather than reiterating, suffice it to say that, Hatch, I'll invite myself along and sit on your side! No cap, no sunglasses x;-) .
  • I'm not sure I understand the seating arrangement. Whose driving?
  • You mean we're going to drink AND drive? That means we'll have to do this in Mississippi.
  • In Missisisississsippi?

You see , i"m not even drunk and I cna't spell that state's name.

But when I am drunk, I'd rather be in that state because i-p - p--i.
  • Hatch, I can see you're a party just waiting to happen. I gotta make sure I'm there.
  • Rush Limbaugh, who I try to catch at least 30 minutes a day, just said that the Polish military has confiscated WMDs in Iraq. My understanding is that it's nineteen missles that supposedly contain serin (sp) gas. But, hey, I'm sure this can't be true since it was reported by a right wing conservative Republican lunatic instead of CNN. And, too, nineteen is probably an insignificant number. In order to qualify as WMDs, there probably would have to be at least a thousand or so. Oh, and they were probably just left over from '91 or some ancient year. This surely can't provide partial validation to GWB's expression of concern for WMDs. Naah, let's move on. There were no WMDs

(I have no idea of the validity of the reported WMDs. Just thought I'd post it since you won't see it in the mainstream media)
  • UPdat eAP News Report on what Don posted

    Baghdad -

The Polish Military Command clarified an earlier report today about it finding 19 weapons of mass destruction.

Zlot Pekrognoskowicz, Lt. Col. of the Polish Army's 1st Infantry, said that the report was in error. Ttranslated into English, his statment was, "Rather than finding 19 weapons of mass destruction, the Polish army unit actually found Rush Limbaugh who was the size of 19 weapons of mass destruction. Sorry for the error."

Sorry for the error and the impact that it had on all those who depended upon him for accurate reporting. It is our understanding that some actually listen to that guy at least 30 minutes every day. Yikes!! (schitzofriwz)in Polish.

There's more - you missed a lot Hatchetman.

We got tired of him in 30 seconds so can't wait to get him out a here (quickawicz in Polish). He's even worse than our guy - Zbigniew Crocaspicz.
