If I lost my job I would be out beating the pavement for another HR opportunity. Being a member of a local SHRM chapter has helped other members with networking opportunities and that may be my avenue if I found myself unemployed. Too much debt to think about sunny beaches, I need steady income to finance my lifestyle.
On the other hand I have always been one to believe things happen for a reason and when one door closes another opens. If this happened to me I may consider dusting off my drums and joining a band, moving to a different area of the country for opportunity, etc.
Well, Beags, guess I'm not either. Was out yesterday, so thought I'd just missed a typical day on the Forum. Now I find out I missed an entire cruise x:'( !
Though part of my plans would include a cruise - I think Alaska this time.... Do you think UI would foot the bill for that $$$?

I'm still crushed that I wasn't invited. And I don't buy that bit about Ray trying to call me, either. You folks are just prejudiced against those of us west of the Rockies (or Rock of the Westies as Elton John might say). :DD

The last time I tried calling you an older sounding woman answered saying she was your housekeeper. I explained to her I was calling you about information about our cruise. She told me some story about you, Cinderella, a pumpkin and a glass slipper and that you would be tied up that weekend. Sorry old boy, sounded like you had much bigger plans.
OK, I'm flexible, I changed the beat just for you but reserve the right to change again when we reach the coda, second verse, etc. Also I like to ad lib so be ready, the dance has to follow the beat. I think a little practice session is in order. Let me know when the next cruise is and and we'll schedule the jam session.

And the deal on the cruise....As much as people pretend to be who they aren't on this Forum, with alternate screennames, I'm not so sure who was really on the cruise and who just had somebody's name tag on. There was a young couple in the cabin next to mine who were going at it all night long, screeching, howling, shrieking....but I suppose it could have been Ray and his horn in there all alone.
Shhh, Cheryl you'll give away the game of fooling Beagle. Trombones may very well improve with age, but trombone players definitely do. We keep practicing until we get it right. We won't say anything about drummers or kazoo players.
