AGE !!!!!!!!! It was that dang sports car! Sits too close to the ground. Was a momentary misjudgment of a weight-balance movement. Now, don't even go THERE.
'weight' was hyphenated with 'balance!' It was not my AGE (thank you Popeye) or my WEIGHT. It was depth perception and balance - I'm blaming the sports car!
You're welcome. Having been married to the same beautiful lady for 32 years, I have learned what to say and what not to say, when to agree and when not to. My wife retired with 30 years service in teaching. My one big mistake was when I shared that we had gotten a discount on our auto insurance because she was 55 and retired. I will not make that mistake again.
I give you credit, SAM, platforms aren't easy to wear, and I'm sure they matched your outfit so at least you looked good on camera. I therefore agree...it must have been the sports car! x;-)
(I'm already very tall and with my record of falling down stairs, wearing platforms would just be asking for trouble.)
About 3 years ago I was walking down stairs in our office when my 1" heel caught the carpet as I was stepping down. I tried to grab the rail with my left hand but missed and ended up on my upper back on the lobby floor. Two clients were in the lobby with 2-3 of our employees.
All I remember was letting out a great big "OOOWWWWWWWW" that could have been heard downtown. I lost my eyesight for about a minute and I felt like my hands were floating above my body. All I could think was how stupid it must look for my hands to be floating like that. Turns out I had a concussion. I got a lot of ribbing after that from the guys in the plant.
I don't have any bizarre WC cases (at least not any that aren't in litigation), but I received a call yesterday from the woman that runs the clinic we send all of our WC injuries to if they don't require hospital treatment. She said she hadn't seen any forms for our company in the past two months and wanted to make sure we weren't mad at them and not using their clinic any longer. I explained recordable incidents and how it was a good thing she wasn't seeing our employees, but she just wanted to make sure we kept sending people over. Some people just don't get it.
