Female Coffee-Aggression

I'm coining a new psychological syndrome label. I've noticed recently that the Forum ladies are much more hostile and aggressive than the men. In the past 24 hours we have seen one of our most regular gentle lady posters state that an employee should be told to "cut the crap, take a hike". And another of our most gentle, lady HR practitioners has remarked about an employee in need of counseling, "Off with her head!" So, I'm asking, is it the need for a caffeine injection? Is it possible that every woman HR person has somehow been infected with that awesome Jersey Girl attitude somehow. The men can't understand this phenomenon but, we're certainly here to help if we can. Please go get another cup of coffee and retract those nails before you respond.

I, for one, am not more aggressive or hostile. However, I am tired to the crap you heap upon us. You men (Yes, I know this sounds bigoted) are use to women smiling and behind your backs gritting our teeth and still doing exactly what we want (because we are always right ;;) ) Now, we are doing it to you face. x:P

At times we need to be aggressive on the Forum. If we acted that way in our jobs we'd be labeled as "b _ _ _ _ _ s" so we have to get it out somehow. Of course if a man says the same thing it's OK but if we say it--look out! Please allow us to vent if we need to and say those things so we can get it out of our system. xx(

Poking the bear, are we, Don? Better hope "The Men's Club" is covering your back. No nails here - just a good old-fashioned even-steven square off. Caffeine injection? (Not a known sedative, you know.) Anyway, you shouldn't be so sensitive or feel intimidated when the 'fairer gender,' the 'weeker sex' takes the assertive stance. It's no threat to your manhood. We have the same job - what's gender got to do with it? A male proclaiming 'off with her head' would have been a hero, macho, strickly business, even a leader. What is it when I say it?

Oh boy.... here we go. I don't believe I'm getting sucked into this one. Talk about digging a hole and no matter what you say, the hole gets deeper.

But, like a wise man once told me, us guys have to hang together or we hang separately.

Maybe the hostility is more a result of spring fever, afterall it was a particularly harsh winter in many parts of the country. My only concern, Don, is won't the caffeine just aggravate the situation? They'll be bouncing off the walls and all of them will look like "that woman" who used to reside at the top of forum masthead.

But, Don is right, us guys just cannot understand this illogical behavior.

I think you're onto it Ray. Being holed up all winter, unable to shop regularly, having to sweep and dust and stuff like that day after day. compounded by the daily making of coffee at work too. It's gotta take a toll. Just has to. I'm beginning to understand. I think I should be very, very thankful that Ritaanz is off on Fridays. x:-)

We can blame S Moll (Sam) for this aggression. She is the one who brought the subject of buying shoes and it has turned into a feeding frenzy much like throwing raw meat at a school of sharks. After being holed up, as you say Don, they got a whiff of shoes and ... the rest is history. And if we keep this up, we will be history.

By way of suggestion, I gave my wife some added responsibility by assigning her some yard work to do. That seems to help burn off the "coffee high". But like James Dobson has said, if you can figure out women you'd be a rich and happy man! x:D

Way to go, Slogan. I assign my wife to do all the snow shoveling in the winter so I don't have too much of a problem come spring. The key is not to figure them out, the key is to control them.

I do not think I am competent to reply to this thread today. Just in one day....I have had a doctor resign, had to fire one employee and had another hysterical one in my office screaming because she made an "84" on a test and her boyfriend has broken up with her last night (not because of the test).

I am feeling pretty darn aggressive right now!

We are all simply trying to understand this phenomenon. McMel is sitting off to the side attacking me. but that's OK. That's a syndrome in itself. We'd really like her constructive thoughts. Slogan has joined on the right side. Beagle you may return to whatever you were doing if you can't express your real thoughts on this phenomenon.

I was thinking of Beagle more as a wimp.

Hey Sam, weren't you one of the ones who blasted me last summer when I called my wife the "little woman"? I don't remember who it was. But, you're right. And one other thing you must realize, Don has my home email address and he knows my wife reads all incoming email and he can very easily get me into trouble with the little woman at home. So, I must support him.

Regarding my characterization as either a coward or a wimp (depending on who's talking), let me just say that I learned a few things from the pilots in the military. They know when to engage and when to break off the attack. Just think of me as circling around above the furball and being smart enough not to engage. x;-) Tally-ho and check six, people! x;-)
