NCAA Tourney Memorable Moments

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 03-19-04 AT 08:59AM (CST)[/font][br][br]While watching this year's tourney, I think back to some memorable moments and characters. Who can forget Villanova in '86 with Rollie Massamino jumping around, the Dean Smith "four corners", John Thompson wearing the towel, Tark the Shark chewing the towel, Lou Carnaseca's sweaters, or the wooden John Wooden.

My most memorable moment (other than when Michigan beat Seton Hall in OT for the '89 championship) was the anguish of Freddy "Downtown" Brown's pass to James Worthy that lost the championship and the class of John Thompson to go give him a hug at the end of the game.

Without a doubt, Christian Laetner's last second shot! Some nice upset's already this year. I would've loved to see Air Force beat NC last night! Sorry Tar Heel fans....Duke all the way!!!

Sorry to say guys but it's gonna be Stanford and Kentucky all the way. With Stanford winning the whole enchilada.:oo

That was soooo depressing, who would think that Kentucky and Stanford would be out in just the 2nd round. It's CRAZY.

Well, the game Saturday will be memorable with us Syracuse fans. Maryland was a worthy oponent and with 'Cuse up by a large margin, they almost lost it, but pulled it out.

PS. Don't make any comments to Don about the fried Dawgs.

Dawgs? I'm suddenly a fair-weather-fan. My team is Alabama. They'll be sending 'cuse home with no X-cuse.

My favorite is still Jim Vallvano running around the court in "84 here at "The Pit" at UNM. He was a great guy and a great coach who's life was cut short. Albuquerque was never the same after that game.

Yes, that is definitely my all time favorite coach's moment.. I still get tears in my eyes when they show that.

Bama and 'Cuse can fight it out, but neither will get passed Duke in the final 4.

And how many people expected Syracuse to go all the way last year? Could happen again.

True Ray, and I was pulling for them. Beyhan had never won a Final Four and he did an excellent job of coaching his players last year. They could still pull it off this year.

My two favorites are still there. Nevada, go Wolfpack has made it to the sweet 16. First time ever and look at the Bracket they are in. Kentucky is gone, thanks Alabama and Gonzaga is gone thanks to Nevada. My other favorite, Kansas is also in the bracket. Would love to see Kansas and Nevada meet again (Nevada won the first meeting), but I don't think the odds are good. GT will be tough to beat, but I think Kansas should be able to handle UAB. I love this time of year.
