Ok, I am sitting here, at home, watching the food network, with an Italian cooking magazine at my side and I am also browsing the Epicurious website. I love to cook so my favorite cable channel is the food network.
What are some of the other forumaniacs favorite cable channels? If you do watch food network what is your favorite show? I've seen a couple of references to this channel on the forum.

I am addicted to some of the home improvement shows, namely Trading Spaces and While you were out.

I like Food Network too. My favorite is Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals. I've tried her recipes and my dinners always take more than 30 minutes--more like an hour and a half. Her recipes are very good but I guess I just don't move as fast as she does. Maybe it's my stove that isn't as hot as hers. Whenever I watch Food Netowrk I just get too hungry so I try to limit my viewing to Rachel. So what are you making for dinner?

I am addicted to Law and Order so I watch TNT and USA alot, I'm also a Star Trek TNG fan so I watch TNN alot too. I try not to watch too much CNN because I turn into an addict, I could watch it 27/7. The only food show I watch is "the Phantom Gourmet" and thats only if I happen upon it by accident, food shows make me hungry.

I prefer my wife to watch the food programs since she is the cook in the family.

Hey mushroom, Rachel Ray's secret is that she does all the prep work ahead of time. All the washing, prepping etc. I like her but I wince whenever she says "delish"

The Travel Channel. I have to have my fix of the World Poker Tour. My wife is getting me hooked on Trading Spaces and While You Were Out. Man, if I came home and they had did this to my home...I would freak. Where do they come up with some of these designs?!

I have become addicted to Monster House (sort of a This Old House on steroids, I think) and Mythbusters - two guys who go around trying to prove or disprove urban legends. I'd probably give up cable if it weren't for my Discovery Channel. x:-)

I try to stay away from the food channel, but the Sci Fi channel gets me every time. ESPN is another standby - love college basketball.

The History channel and the Discovery channel. If I watch TV it is normally on of those two.

I love the travel channel and food network. I saw a show (I think it was only like a two part mini-series type deal) called "Repo-Man" on some channel. It was about people who are in the repossesion biz. That show totally ruled. I think they should make it a regular show.
I also like mythbusters, trading spaces (but hate Paige Davis), globe trekker, sometimes iron chef (for a laugh), and extreme elimination challenge - totally hilarious. I think the best show on tv is will and grace though. Jack and Karen KILL me.

I favor real-life detective stories on the Investigation Channel and also on Court TV. Truth

One of my favorite things is to watch the Food Channel while my wife cooks. Occasionally I holler toward the kitchen, "Is is going to take aaaallll day?" Something cathartic about that, it seems. Have I got it right or what?

My husband and I are addicted to Law & Order SVU so we watch USA almost every night. I enjoy HGTV and food channel also. Just started watching food channel about a month ago - great ideas. Last Monday they had back to back Rocher on the Road all day - wonderful.

I love Bravo - I never really watched the West Wing before I was home sick about 8 months ago & they had a West Wing marathon. Now I'm addicted. I also enjoy the other shows and movies on Bravo. I'm also a huge fan of HGTV (love that house hunters show) and TLC. My favorite premium cable channel is HBO. My favorite shows are Sex and the City and the Sopranos.

Disclaimer: Of course I only watch TV as a form of escapism from my more serious hobbies of ending hunger in the world, selected readings from Dostoevsky and shopping.

My favorite show has to be Outdoor Outtakes on OLN Network. Imagine America's Funniest Videos if you added a bunch of testosterone, snow, margaritas, and helium sucked out of a balloon. x:o

The rest of the time, I flit around sports, Sci-Fi, Discovery, History, Bravo, and Comedy Central (for the political coverage).
