Well, it's a friday the 13th and thankfully, nothing bad has happened. I am waiting for the onslaught since it also just happens to be payday. Anything out of the ordinary, good or bad, ever happen to anyone on a Friday the 13th? The only thing I can ever remember is back in highschool, the button popping off of the pants I was wearing (for no apparent reason). Nothing that a paperclip and an oversized shirt didn't fix.

:-? this is twice in one week. People may start to talk...
EDIT: Just realized this is the 13th post on Friday the 13th. Thankfully it has been an uneventful one so far. Only another hour and a half to go!
Now if you'll all excuse me I have to go oil up my chainsaw and find my hockey mask. x;-)
On 7/7/77, my family had a huge barn fire and my family of 7 nearly lost everything. My parents had just started using that barn for storing vehicles for people. Those people were not pleased. So much for the lucky 7.
As far as today, Friday the 13th . . . my 10:00 interview showed up but he was about 25 minutes early. I told him to have a seat, that because he was early I would be with him as soon as possible. Somebody within ear shot looked at the clock and pointed out that it had stopped. Nice first impression I made on that guy.
Today, I am in the office alone x:D
One of our employees screws up 2 other employess time sheets so one get shorted 20 hours and one is overpaid by 20 hours. Never apologizes, never acts like its her faultxx(
One of our passive agressive supervisors does the exact opposite of what he had agreed to do yesterday and caused a new employee to quit before he even started. xx( xx(
Etc, Etc. so much for my quiet day.
On a more serious note..certainly doesn't belong here in har har
On Friday the 13th, 6 years ago, one of our employees/clients snapped and killed his girlfriend (also worked for us) an innnocent bystander whose car he stole and then comitted cop suicide (I think that's what they call it when someone forces the cops to have no choice but to shoot). It was, without a doubt, the worst day of my career. It ultimately divided our management team in two and was a deciding factor in my choice to leave human services after 22 years. Talk about hindsight, questioning and woulda coulda shoulda! Despite my own advice to the contrary, there are several of us who will go to our graves wondering if there was anything we could have done differently to change the course of events that day. I thought alot before even deciding to post this, but it does have an HR implication. One of the triggers was Joe thought he was at risk of losing his job (he wasn't) One of the (several) lessons I learned from the event was NEVER underestimate the importance of work/job to some people.
Now aren't you sorry you asked?
A good weekend to you all!
