This is just too funny not to share.

Anna (my 19mth old daughter) has another bout with cradle cap. It basically is like dandruff, with a very dry scalp. I decided to take care of it just like we did when she was an infant.


Well.......

Did you know, Vaseline is very hard to wash out of hair? Yep, that's what I put on her head, but I forgot that the last time we did it, she had no hair. I put it on last night and woke her up 1/2 an hour early to bathe her and her head.

Well, she went to school with a very greasy head this morning.

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 02-11-04 AT 03:27PM (CST)[/font][br][br]My oldest had realllly crusty cradle cap as an infant. I used baby oil and a fine toothed comb to loosen then kind of scrape off all the crud. The baby oil washed out just fine.

At least when the other little ones try to grab her hair, they won't get much of a grip!

At least you were kind enough to not use Mentholatum! That's what my grandfather used to stick my thumb in when I was two years old so I would stop sucking it. If he was still alive, I know persactly what I would put in his Preparation-H tube!

Poor baby! did you get a picture of her new "do?" At least you could keep a bow in her hair.

The saga continues....

I read on the internet that cornstarch and clarifying shampoo would get the Vaseline out of Anna's hair. We didn't have any cornstarch, so Greg said, hey, why not use flour.

Immediately following taking the photograph, I came to the horrible realization that you really don't need eggs to make bread dough, water and flour are enough. Ick.

Well, it didn't work, Anna still has a greasy head. And to top it all off? She still has cradle cap.

Some times, you just have to laugh!!!

I have to help this baby out. The best thing you can do is shampoo with Dawn dush washing soap. Believe me, it works and is mild enough for her. Don't ask how I know.

I'm guessing that if Dawn is good enough to clean up birds caught in the Exxon Valdez oil spill, it's probably good enough to get out vaseline.
