A friend just sent this to me, and too funny if it isn't true! I had to really concentrate to have it not happen.

I had seen this before & tried it - it's true!!! But I hadn't seen the footnote about the "left" foot. That's mind boggling!

How Smart is Your Right Foot?
This is so funny that it will boggle your mind. And you will keep trying at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't.

While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.

Try it with your left!

It didn't work for me. Foot kept going in a clockwise direction. Am I deformed? :-S

It means that your right foot is not too smart, sorry Beagle! Did you try your left foot? I did left foot right hand and left foot left hand. It worked with one vs the other.

Actually I figured it out. It is weird. I think my problem was that I was lifting my foot in the air and making clockwise circles - but I was just pivoting my foot clockwise at the ankle, not actually using the whole lower leg to make the circles. Switched to counter-clockwise right away.

What does it say about the intelligence of people who actually try this stunt? Oh, my right foot changed directions and my left didn't.

Did you do your left foot with right hand? If so, try it with left foot, left hand and the same thing happens with the right foot.

Weird indeed. Sort of like the licking your elbow thread from awhile back. Now that I didn't try!

My foot had a delayed reaction. I was sitting there drawing the six with my right hand watching my foot turning clockwise thinking bull sh** when suddenly the foot turned counter. Odd.

Try this with a Bloody Mary. Your right hand will reverse and make a figure 8 and your left leg will extend toward the door and now we're over on that flatulence thread all of a sudden. Don't try this at home! How dare you make me do this. My wife has complained and I'm giving her the 'alert' number.

The only thing more entertaining than trying this, was my vision of HR professionals across the country sitting at their desks trying this. Given some of the posts lately, I think the warden may be calling for pysch. evals anytime now. x;-)

OMG! I thought the same exact thing. I wasn't drawn in by the whole "can't lick your own elbow thread", but this one I did just as my coworker was coming into my office. Good thing they can't see under my desk! I nearly died with laughter imagining Don, Ray, Beagle, Pork and my other HR forumites doing this.

Thats great! One warning: don't try this while EE's are walking by your office. It just confirms those rumors about HR people.

This reminds me of another seemingly easy task that is actually impossible.

Challenge someone to eat a single slice of bread in one minute without anything to drink. Its almost impossible.

How does the song go? The foot bone's connected to the leg bone, the leg bone's connected to the right hand bone?

It worked for me, both ways and even with either hand. I guess none of me is smart. Everyone should not feel obliged to agree with me all at once!

Now let's move it up a notch. Try it with both feet and hands at the same time. It won't matter which direction your feet and hands are turning. The important thing is that you report to us exactly how you felt while doing it.

Now I know how a squeaky clean baby beagle puppy feels when he flops on his back and rolls around begging me to tickle his tummy.

There's a special reward to the person who will do this and submit a photo for the site. I vote for HS to do it.

Hey, no fair nominating someone and on a Saturday no less! Isn't there some rule that the one who suggested or nominated someone, should be the one to actually have to do it? I think there is somewhere. Who will second seeing Don in a pose such as he suggests?

C'mon ray, I didn't want to see Janet's boo*, either, but I did. Now everybody's talking about it. You don't want to miss out on Don's pose, do you?

Not sure I wanted to see Don in the pose he DID submit, let alone his beagle-puppy-on-his-back pose. The only artistically redeeming things in the first photo were the bottle tree and maybe the motorcycle. x;-)

I agree with Beagle, well at least with the motorcycle (scooter). Mel, mark that on your calendar - Beagle and I agreed with each other in consecutive posts. The only thing worse might be to see me in that pose. That would be sure to scare away a few M Lee Smith customers.
