OK, who is actually working today? I don't mean just putting in your time wandering around being a nuisance, but actually doing something constructive. I hae 5 interviews scheduled this morning then finish up some paperwork this afternoon. May get out early - about the time Beagle goes to lunch.

I am at work today, and will be on Friday also. As far as getting work done? Well, maybe answering a few e-mails/phone messages, but that's probably about it. Eerily quiet around here.

No one else here - great time to get some real work done! Actually, I expect to clean up a few things by noon then head home to wrap the stuff I got and help get started on tomorrows dinner. Almost no traffic coming in this morning, a little dusting of snow, family home, life is good!

I'm here darn it! I decided not to be a scrooge so I let my assistants be off. So its just me, myself, and I in HR today. It is too quiet! I think I may clean up my office a little and then who knows! I hope to be out by 3 today. Happy Holidays to all!

Today is payday. Already people are clamoring for their checks (even though they were notified that the checks wouldn't be available until noon) so they can leave. Our factories are closed from tomorrow through January 4, 2004 so most people are getting pay and vacation checks. As for me, I'm working next week.

We're here at the FR5 too. But we had an HR/ Marketing tea and cookie party with the President (its his first Xmas with our area and I don't think he has been to a girly tea party before). Its a social/ last chance to do billables day.

Whatever, payday here too. The checks were supposed to arrive yesterday the carriers airplane broke down and they still haven't arrived yet. Many unhappy ee's.

Was in at 6am and out at 10am. We worked the 20th so we could have the 26th off - really looking forward to the long weekend.

I am taking this time to do PR with our EEs getting out on the floor wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, asking about their families.

I've been here for an hour and so far haven't gotten a single thing done. All the others that didn't take vacation are wandering around talking to others, and my door is always open! I'll be out of here at 1:00, and back on Friday. I don't mind working these two weeks, because it is sooo quiet and I usually get a great deal done.

I'm working today, and actually accomplishing a few things, but not much. Then I'll be off till Monday, YAY!

I'm working today. I'll spend about half the day in my office doing paperwork, and the other half on the sales floor helping people find their last minute gifts.
We close up shop at 6pm, but every year we still have people in the store until after 7pm. I just think that is so rude.
We have familes that we want to go home to, but these people wait until the eleventh hour to do all their shopping, and then they get mad because we're telling them we are closing!

Okay, well I'm not going to join the fray and lie and talk about how productive I'm going to be today. Today is going to be about as sharp as a bowling ball. Only three of us here, we're shutting things down at noon, maybe play a little poker between now and then. My files are already retired for the year, the new ones are set up, insurance reconciliation is done, don't have to do any hiring, in basket is empty, coffee cup is full, Christmas shopping is all done, don't have to do any cooking, life is good. Work???????? Nah...just everyone looking like they are working. Golly, it's Christmas eve - 8 am in the morning, and already I have been given four gifts. Who has their mind on work? Pot-luck at noon..and when we finish that, we are outta here! Back to real work on Monday, though.

I actually did work today, I just now got a minute to relax and its time to go home, my company gives us a 1/2 day today...so now I am packing up and going home to prepare the Christmas Eve feast.

I'm working today. So far, I built a fire at 4:50 a.m.; put the garbage on the street at 7:00 and taped a $5 bill to the can; rearranged the tins of cookies, peanut brittle and candies on the kitchen bar; made coffee for my wife at 7:40; turned on the revolving tree; cleaned the mud off my daughter's shoes I found at the back door and filled the bird feeder at 9:00. I'm exhausted. In about an hour and a half, I'll build the first bloody mary. We have tons of fun at my house on Christmas Eve. Hope I haven't offended anyone.

I have a lot of family visiting and all but two of us are sick with some sort of bronchial thing. Coughing and hacking - so far, I have been waiting on everyone hand and foot. Had to come to work for some time to myself. That aside, it's great to have everyone here. Mom and Dad drove in from Sun City with Sis. My daughter and her SO flew in from New Jersey. Everyone else is here is spirit or are we there in spirit? I get so confused.

Don, sounds like some fun at your place. Good job remembering the garbage collectors. Most of ud don't. Often when I see the outrageous dollars we pay for entertainment (concerts, pro ball, etc), I get really ticked off about the out of balance nature of our priorities, and the garbage collectors are always on my list of people who do important work. That said, it's not a job I want, so I also tape some green to the cans around Christmas time.

I am working in the same sense as Don. Up at six to clean bathroom, then I tackled the kitchen. I have my parent's coming over tomorrow and my SO's son is coming to stay. I am going to be cooking a standing rib roast with roast potatoes and something veggie. We got Nicholas (so's son) an electric bike and we are so excited to see the look on his face!
We were going to get him an electric scooter but when my guy called to make sure that his ex had'nt already gotten him one she declared it unsafe. He's 11 for crying out loud!!! So we got him the bike, see, no scooter like she said. HA!
The box says for ages 8 and up, I think it will be fine.
