I have eaten pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, fish tacos from the street stands in Mexico many times and have never been bit by the infectious bug. Knock on wood, eddice, that you're like me and not ritaanz!
Oooh, that sounds nasty - bet you'll never touch one of those again. Usually it's a matter of constitution - some are fine, some stomachs just can't take it. Sounds like this was just flat out bad pork.
I didn't go shopping after Thanksgiving and I never will. As a matter of fact, it is my own personal resolution to never enter a retail establishment between Thanksgiving and Christmas other than the gas station and the grocery store, and usually I avoid those too.
I'm completely missing the shopping gene, along with the jewelry gene and the Christmas gene. I have no use for any of them and I especially dislike Christmas.
Can't afford to get sick from the tacos because in 2 weeks I leave for Asia. You won't believe what I'll be eating there from the carts on the streets. I have a little immunity because my mother was horrible in how she handled food. I'll cross my fingers again.

I hope you invoked the "five-second rule".
