I was at the copy machine getting some materials together for an illegal harassment training when one of our women supervisors handed me a typewritten sheet of paper:

SINGLE BLACK FEMALE seeks male companionship, ethnicity unimportant. I'm a very good looking girl who LOVES to play. I love long walks in the woods, riding in your pickup truck, hunting, camping and fishing trips, cozy winter nights lying by the fire. Candlelight dinners will have me eating out of your hand. Rub me the right way and watch me respond. I'll be at the front door when you get home from work, wearing only what nature gave me. Kiss me and I'm yours. Call (phone number) and ask for (name).

Over 15,000 men found themselves talking to the (name) Humane Society about an 8-week old black labrador retriever.


I found this very funny, but as an HR guy, I told her it was inappropriate to engage in gender bashing using company resources.

Besides that, the number was busy when I called.

I got my 'complimentary' AARP card a couple of years ago, I did not feel at all complimented and I refuse to use it for discounts even though I like to spend both sides of a nickel!

Although Ray and Parabeagle each replied three (3) times to this post, I don't see anything wrong with it. I thought it was funny. It you fear it may be racially insensitive, change it to blonde and make the dog a white lab. Has anyone here yet guessed that I am black? Would it matter?

Look closely at his picture. It's one of those life-sized cutout posters of James Dean on a motorcycle. He just slipped the shirt over the poster, and placed it in front of the tree.

I want what I want, and he, for some reason, keeps telling me NO IT JUST DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY. 8-| (We are planning an import process so my payroll person doesn't have to manually key paydata for 400 employees every two weeks.) I'll just keep whittling away at him - I hate being told NO when there IS a way to make things happen, we just have to get creative.

I'm being too mean - he'll help me find a way, he was just tired of me nagging at him. He also apologized to me for "getting feisty". Smart man. x:D

My oldest brother and his wife are attempting to adopt a child. During the counseling process, they were asked how the family would feel about adoption of a child of a different race. My brother said "my family wouldn't care if it was black, brown, yellow, blue or plaid. They'll be happy and supportive no matter what we do." Smart guy, great family.

No Don D, it wouldn't matter. If it matters to me, then I'm in the wrong Forum.

I think DON is a mixture of alot of patterns. That's what makes him so umm how do I put it. unique?

Don D - my mother always told me that boys pick on girls because they like them. Hope you remember that when we pick on your many colors (patterns?) - it's because we LIKE you, and we secretly love the occasional blasting for it.

Yeah, HRQ, I remember that old saw from my grade school days. I'd get kicked in the shins by some girl on the playground and it's all because she theoretically LIKES me???? Gimme a break!
