As of 2 hours ago, I have joined the ranks of the unemployed. Discharged because of job elimination. There were other issues that tipped the scale in that direction, however, this is the official reason given and I'll go with it. It allows for unemployment collection.

However, I'm putting the all out there. If anyone in the Kansas City area learns of an HR opening, please let me know! This couldn't have happened at a worse time. I appreciate your help and will be lurking in to check in with all of you.

By the way, how can I change my email address on my profile so if any of you have leads for me, I can receive them at my personal email address?

I'm sorry to hear of your termination. Never had the experience so I can't really empathize. But, a year ago our local VP was campaining to get rid of me - he was used to a weak HR department with his former employer, one he could do whatever he wanted and they would rubber-stamp it. I don't work that way. Fortunately, my direct boss at corporate stood by me realizing that I wasn't the problem. I've been told I will be around long after the VP is gone.
