UGHHHH!!!!!

Can someone please explain to me why I spend hours lining up interviews, and then sit around waiting for people who seemed so "Excited" to get an interview, who then never show up!??? Or, as one nice man did today, call me 4 hours later and inform me that he was too busy and will have to come in tomorrow, same time. (I told him that wuld not work, I am busy. I am not, but it's juyst the point!)

I feel like going to each person's house and interrupting their evening, just to sit there and waste their time like they have wasted mine!

Ok, I just neded to get that out. I just get a bit stressed, and there is no one in the office today, of course! Thanks!

  • Do you feel better now?

How's this? Our Personnel Specialist, who does the entry level recruiting, scheduled her step-son to come for an interview. He didn't show up. His uncle, who worked for us until today, "forgot" to pick him up. Of course he never called either. Was she ticked!
  • If it makes you feel any better, it happens to all of us. My favorite is the time I scheduled an interview for a Sales Rep. I made airline reservations for him to fly in from New York. We had a car waiting for him at the airport. He never showed up nor did he call. Well, the Jersey in me got the best of me. I called him at his work and what do you know, he answered the phone. After hesitating for a moment he apologized and said, "My girlfried is being transferred back to NY and I'm not interested in relocating to AZ anymore." That's ughhhhhhhh!
  • We've all had people not show up for interviews. The ones that amaze me are the ones who show up a day or two later (or call) and just assume I'm still anxious to interview them. By golly, I bet some think I'm stupid enough to hire them.
