Employee Contact Lists - Publishing Thereof

I am in New York. We are in the habit of publishing on our intranet, for employees only, everyone's home address and phone numbers (even if those phone numbers are unpublished). Some employees do not want their addresses and phone numbers published. Can we make them oblige or is there a law in NY that says if they don't want the information published, we shouldn't do it?

How about this scenario? You publish someone's unlisted number and another employee starts calling and harassing them, all hours of the night. Any possibility that if the victim decides to pursue legal action your company could be named as a codefendant? I would think so. I have had to deal with employees harassing coworkers during off hours, but fortunately, they didn't get the phone numbers from me.
They can also change any information at any time to disclose more or less information or none at all.
