Bad Attitude II

This more of a comment than a question, and it is in response to dfair's post about Bad Attitude: Why is it that employees will allow an employer to abuse them so horribly?? Whenever I have an employee who is worth so much more, and know of other employers who pay so much better, I always wonder why they don't go where they'll be appreciated and get those benefits/pay. At least until a couple of years ago, the job market was so hot that anyone could find a job. Why do they put up with this abuse? And, I almost always bite my tongue when I have this thought when dealing with an employee.

  • Here in Albany we are still managing to maintain a 3.8% unemployment rate so there are still plenty of jobs here. We are fortunate in that were are considered in the top 10 highest paying companies in this region but our ees work for their money. We have made some great efforts to maintain our 4.5% turnover. Right now not many other companies can compete with us in our region but, there is $40,000,000,000 in new business coming to our region over the next two years. I think we are looking at a tough future.
