Ah, those fond childhood memories.
tend to be thinner or fatter than those living in dry areas? When I came to the States, I was very thin. After all these years of living in VERY DRY Southern California , I have gained a bit of weight. I would disagree with the survey,
San Diego is not sweaty !
Chari
See, this is my idea on that..sure in theory you would think we'd sweat all that fat off, but it's SOOOO stinkin hot NOBODY goes outside..we just all stay indoors in air conditioned comfort. However, we like to use the heat outside that we are never in as an excuse to eat a gallon of Ice Cream a week..
or am I alone in that?? :-?......ummmmm..Rocky Road ....=P~
I'm vacationing in number 1 in August.
Gad! I'd better head for Corpus Christi!
Zanne
However, I'll take this under advisement and let you know if you are correct.
Worse comes to worse and we'll head north for Wisconsin.
I have been to Corpus Christi and been to San Antonio too... had lots of fun both places! Eat up as much Salsa as you can! It's the best thing I remember from Texas! If your anything like me, I would go anywhere (in the U.S.) for free ! Have a good vacation! The only place I get to go this year is Windsor, Canada. Just a 3 hour drive and a two night stay. We're on a tight budget, but looking forward to getting away!

What are your favorites in San Antonio? My son, age 8, and I will be going, so it has to be kid friendly.
I'm thinking Riverwalk, Alamo, Mercado, and Sea World. Then off to Corpus Christi - Texas State Aquarium, beaches, and relaxation.
What else should we do?
I was 16 when I went to San Antonio.... I remember the Alamo, It was a lot smaller than in the movie "Pee WEe's big Adventure" (I was a big fan of the movie and had certain expectations, please forgive me), but still awesome! I took a lot of pictures! I can remember it being really hot even in February so bring water or juice with you. Not sure if an 8 year old would enjoy shopping, scenery and eating (well maybe eating) but that's what I loved about it the river walk! My Aunt planned the trip and I was "along for the ride" so Im not sure where else we went. Watch out for Armadillos, They're everywhere!!!!

Depending on your budget, San Antonio is only about an hours drive away from New Braunfels and the BEST waterpark in the nation Schlitterbaun!! You HAVE to go there if you can!!
