Signs you're getting older

I was discussing one of the threads with a co-worker and we decided there are certain signs that you're getting older. The ones we came up with are: 1) people offer you a seat on the train or bus 2) your religious leader is younger than you 3)your doctor is younger than you 4)the president of the United States is younger than you 5) people in their 30's & 40's call you "Ma'am" or "Sir". 6)you've joined AARP. 7)You wear trifocals (without the lines, so no one knows 8)The first thing you look at in the morning is obit section of the paper 9)You've started saying "in the good old days".

People in their 30's look like they just got out of high school.

1) Phrases like "By cracky!" and "Whippersnapper" start creeping into your vocabulary; 2) The battery on your car died because your left turn signal has been on for two weeks.

Employees/applicants are younger and younger - first their birth year is the year you graduated from high school, then the same year of your college graduation, then they were born the year you married, the year you started at your job, the year your oldest child was born and just this week - the applicant's supervisor at his previous employer is a schoolmate of my son! Yikes!!!! How can that be????

Yesterday it was Don who left us laughing, today it's Parabeagle. I'll have to check my turn signal when I get into the car (If I remember). In my business, you know you're getting older when some of the cops we hire look like they probably only have a probationary driver's license, or the bartender is going to 'card' them when they answer a call. Who's going to listen to these kids, anyway?

I was thinking the same thing four or five months ago. But they pretty much got Saddam's attention, so I think it's going to be okay.

Oh man, now you're making me feel bad. Just got my AARP card and application and I got trifocals earlier this year - but they have the lines.

It used to be called "a senior moment". However, for the politically correct, it is called "selective memory"

When you read through all the posts and by the time you get to the bottom, you have to scroll back to the top to see what the question was. C'mon now, I know I'm not the ONLY one who has done that!

I guess I am better late then never in responding. However, you really know you are getting older when you and your long-haired 26 year old son go through the security at the airport and they pull you out of line to search and let him go through.

When your first born is pushing 40. (Remember I was a child bride.) ;;)

When you tune to the local "Top 40" station and find yourself saying, "This isn't music, this is terrible! Now, what I listen to, that's music." I find myself doing this now and I'm only 32.x:'(

Or when listening to oldies (60's) music and tell you your 20-something year old kids that that music was the hard rock of its day and considered risque because of its drug allusions. And they laugh.

When you start listening to (and enjoying) talk radio more than music.
Let's hear it for Bob and Tom!)

When after riding the Twister and the Tilt a Whirl at a local amusement park, you remember WHY you don't ride carnival rides any more. (Realization hit me Wednesday night after being at the park with my son)
