Being the FMLA afficionado that I am (not), I hope that somebody in Brentwood, Tennessee is tallying the days on Christy's 12 weeks. We miss her too much to let her run over by even a half day. And don't fall for that 'working from home' stuff.....she hasn't checked in on the Forum in a couple of weeks. x:-)

In fact, Christy and Cole just stopped by the office. Both are doing very well. Here in Tennessee we have a state FMLA law that allows mothers to take off up to 16 weeks, so Christy has been enjoying that time with Baby Cole. Maybe she'll stop by the Forum and let you all know what she's been up to. Little Cole is sure a cutie!

I did stop by the office today to attend to some business ... I turned in my resignation in favor of staying home with Cole. Just can't turn him over to someone else, and fortunately, our family finances will allow me to stay home with some extra scrimping here and there. In addition, I will most likely be doing some part-time, freelance, and/or contract work from home, some of which will probably be for M. Lee Smith Publishers.

All that to say 'goodbye' but that you haven't seen the last of me. To be honest, I have been dropping into the forum on the sly just to see what you all were up to but hadn't posted anything for a while. I'm sure I'll continue to stop in ... especially when I desperately need ideas for dinnertime! x:-)

Here's a pic of my first Mother's Day and one of Cole at 7 weeks (he's almost 2 1/2 months now!!).

Oh no! Sob............You can't leave us. Not fair. Baby Cole has you all to himself. If you MUST stay home, pop in on us once in a while. I know for a fact that Don D is terrified of Christy when she puts on the Forum police hat.

Christy, that boy is beautiful! We are all sorry to see you go, but I know it really can make a difference when mom can stay at home with baby. Time goes by so quickly! My youngest just had her first child on the 18th. He is another beautiful boy. These times are too precious to waste, but CEBUDRAGONLADY is right. Keep those skills up and drop in on us. We love to hear from you.

About the baby sister - Cole better be nearing KINDERGARTEN before we go there again. Poor Daddy. x;-)

Congrads on your decision to stay home with Cole. I did it twice (2 kids) and they were the best years of my life! I don't regret it for a moment. It goes so fast. My "baby" got his driver's license in January. My oldest will be a senior in college next fall. And just yesterday, I was home with them, going to the library, the community pool, and just hanging out. Looking at them now, it was really worth it. My senior in college will even tell you so.

He's a keeper! Congratulations on being able to stay home with him, you won't regret it. However, keep your skills sharp, they grow up fast and sooner or later you may be back in the marketplace (and some of us may still be around to benefit from your knowledge). I just passed another milestone: my last one finished elementary school (after having some there since 1987)!!!
