Bird Pecking - Sexual Harassment

I recently attended a seminar on documenting disciplinary action. One of the attorneys told us of a case that I have to share. An employee filed a case against her company because her supervisor made her come into his office, take off her clothes, stand on the radiator while his parrot pecked at her. And I thought I had heard it all! Why did this guy have a parrot at work?!

I don't for one minute believe that story. The attorney who told that one for some reason chose not to tell the group the punch line, which was something like, "Come into my office". Nahhh, wait a minit. I'm not going there either. It was rather cruel to have her stand on a radiator though. What kind of weirdo would do that?

He did give a little more graffic detail but I left that part out. Apparently she went along with it at the time for fear of being fired. The harasser was the owner's son. Apparently this was not the first woman he tried this with. The attorney told us that two other women came forward during the investigation. The attorney and the parrot were from Syracuse, NY.

Doesn't sound like sexual harassment to me. More like cruelty to parrots. He even let her stand on the radiator so she wouldn't get a chill. Whatta guy!
