You know you are in HR when...
you get applications from someone with a conviction for vehicular manslaughter and is applying for a tour bus driver position.
you see "stalking" as one of the job duties listed by an applicant who worked at a supermarket.
you take your family to Disneyland for the day and actually ask one of the employees about their benefits package, training, etc...
you can make people cry and feel like crying in the same day.

Gillian and Franfields hit on a topic I have been researching lately: the importance of background checks, and how to perform them correctly. The next HR Executive Special Report will be on that topic. If anyone has any interesting stories, or questions, on this topic, please let me know!
You can post them here, or e-mail me directly at awilliams@mleesmith.com.
