Attendance Policy

Our attendance policy is so outdated and vague it has become impossible to interpret and enforce. The largest issue is the unpaid amounts of time some of our employees are granted. This is decided on a case by case basis by the front-line supervisor. The policy does say that excessive absenteeism will begin the disciplinary process. The problem here is that one supervisor's definition of "excessive" is 8 unpaid hours, another's definition is 40 hours, on up. We have employees with 180 hours of unpaid time.
