  • Golf,

This is the policy we had at the Bank. I currently work for a company that does not have any travel for non-exempt employees. Hope this helps...

Non-exempt employees who are required to travel on business will be compensated as follows:

    * Time spend traveling from one work location to another both during and after regularly scheduled work hours is counted as hours worked.

    * When required to perform a one-day work assignment in another city during regularly scheduled work hours, travel time from the base work location to the assigned location is considered hours worked. Time spent communiting to and from home to the base work location is not included as travel time. If the commute from home directly to the temporary work location, only that time spent in excess of the normal communiting time is considered compsensable.

    * When required to perform a one-day assingment that is both outside of regularly scheduled work hours and in another city, all travel time is considered hours worked.

    * When required to take an overnight trip, all hours spend in travel will be considered hours worked.

**Note: Normal commuting time, traveling home to work, is not considered hours worked and therefore is not compensated.

    Have a GREAT Day!

    Shelley
